The Angel's Game

An intrinsic tale that is the prequal to the mesmerising Shadow of the Wind. A fantastic mystery which was a worthy read.

Memoirs of a Geisha

Memoirs of a Geisha is one of my all time favorite books. A magical and exotic tale full of the mysteries of the Geisha world in Kyoto. Arthur Golden blew me away with his magical descriptions. I honestly could not put this book down and have read it numerous times. A stunning debut novel by Golden and a very hard one to live up to. A truly fantastic read.

The Book Thief

A remarkable tale narrated by death, an unusual novel which describes the most horrendous and profound actions of human history. Zusak's novel enlightened me to the power of words and how they affect peoples lives. With an ending that will almost certainly move you to tears this is a brilliant novel that will absorb and entertain.

Company of Liars

A mystery set during the time of the plague, as the title suggests each of the characters thrown together each hold a dark secret.
An intriguing read with twists and turns that keeps the book racing. The hideous secrets of each of the characters provides an evocative read.

The Road

The Road, written by renowned author Cormac McCarthy is set in
post-apocalyptic America. It tells the struggles of a man and a boy striving to survive as they make their way to the coast. This harrowing tale has you disturbingly enthralled as you read it. A masterpiece.

The Shadow of the Wind

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón was a impulse buy while browsing the shelves of my favourite bookshop.
A coming of age story of a boy who becomes enthralled by an obscure book found in a mysterious crypt ominously called the cemetery of forgotten books.
The book, named The Shadow of the Wind leads him on an epic journey. A quest to find the man who wrote it- the man who became his hero.

A completely fantastic read which took hold of my imagination immediately.
